Overview

This role is for a Software Engineer / Senior Software Engineer working with a confidential client in the Financial Services industry. You will build production fintech features in a Rails/Postgres environment, improve internal tooling and data workflows, and use AI-assisted development workflows as a force multiplier.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build product features within an established Rails codebase using a tests-first (TDD) approach and CI/CD pipelines.
• Improve internal tooling, automation, and data workflows to reduce manual effort and increase reliability.
• Build and maintain integrations with mid-market and enterprise clients.
• Use, refine, and document AI-assisted development workflows and developer tooling.
• Contribute to architectural decisions as the platform’s data model and intelligence layer evolve.
• Own features end-to-end: discovery, design, implementation, tests, and operational runbooks.

Who You Are / Qualifications

We care more about what you’ve built and how you think than titles or years of experience. A strong candidate will demonstrate:

• Experience with one or more backend languages (Ruby, PHP, or Python) and familiarity working in a Rails/Postgres environment.
• Evidence of personal projects, GitHub samples, scripts, or tooling you’ve built and shipped.
• Practical experience applying AI tools to software development workflows (and the ability to show how you validated outputs and handled inaccuracies).
• Strong systems thinking — you design for workflows and processes, not only individual tickets.
• Comfort working in a small, high-autonomy team where ownership and proactive problem solving matter.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred but not required.

Preferred examples to share in your application (if available):

• GitHub repos, demos, or write-ups showing an AI-assisted development workflow you built.
• Examples of integrations or automation that improved reliability or throughput.
• Tests-first examples and CI/CD pipeline contributions.
