Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Software Engineer with a strong focus on data engineering, analytics, and machine learning support. This full-time role is ideal for candidates with 1–4 years of relevant experience who want to build scalable data pipelines, support AI/ML initiatives, and contribute to production data solutions. Candidates must be willing to relocate anywhere in the United States for onsite client projects.
What You’ll Do
- Develop, test, and maintain data engineering and AI solutions primarily using Python.
- Build and support end-to-end data pipelines and ETL workflows.
- Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries for extraction, transformation, and analysis.
- Collect, clean, transform, and analyze structured and unstructured data sets.
- Automate repetitive data processing tasks and data quality checks.
- Collaborate with developers, data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand and translate requirements.
- Assist in implementing and validating machine learning models and AI-driven solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline, database, and data processing issues.
- Document technical solutions, pipeline designs, and operational runbooks.
- Stay current with industry best practices, cloud tools, and data-platform patterns.
Required skills & experience
- 1–4 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, or AI Engineering.
- Strong proficiency in Python for data processing and automation.
- Solid SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
- Practical experience developing end-to-end data solutions and ETL processes.
- Understanding of data transformation techniques, data modeling, and data quality principles.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication; ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred skills
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with PySpark, AWS S3, Lambda, EC2, Airflow, or Databricks.
- Exposure to machine learning, generative AI, or computer vision concepts.
- Knowledge of probability and statistics.
- Experience with GitLab or other version control workflows.
- R programming knowledge is a plus.
Compensation & location
- Employment type: Full-time, entry-level.
- Hourly pay: $30.00 – $35.00 USD per hour.
- Location: Role is based in Ohio (statewide). Candidate must be willing to relocate anywhere within the United States for onsite client projects.
