Role Overview
Confidential Client is hiring a Software Engineer, NPI to build lab and test automation that moves new hardware from the lab into production at scale. This role focuses on test orchestration, data capture and analysis, benchmark automation, and tools that make qualification runs comparable and deployable across platforms.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain lab and NPI software: test orchestration, config management, and result databases.
- Automate qualification workflows so measurements and telemetry are captured, comparable, and queryable.
- Ship tooling used daily by engineers in the lab: benchmark automation, validation suites, and golden-config packaging for fleet deployment.
- Turn manual engineering workflows into repeatable pipelines and CI for hardware.
- Work closely with hardware and firmware engineers; iterate quickly on tools based on user feedback.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience building test automation or lab software for hardware programs.
- Strong background handling hardware-shaped data — telemetry, logs, and measurements at volume.
- Production-quality experience with Python or Go; comfortable moving fast with modern tooling.
- Comfortable working directly with engineers who use your tools; strong customer-focused iteration.
- Bonus: experience with hardware test harnesses, Grafana/time-series databases, BMC/Redfish APIs, and CI for hardware.
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation range: $224,000 — $279,000 per year (salary range provided by Confidential Client).

- Primary worksite: Seattle, WA. This role will involve close collaboration with on-site lab and engineering teams.
