Role Overview

This Software Engineer role is based in New York, NY and supports the development of an AI-native social engineering defense platform. The confidential client builds large-scale systems that monitor billions of signals to detect phishing, impersonation, fraud, and other digital threats. You will help design, build, and scale real-time data infrastructure and full-stack product features to enable threat detection and mitigation.

What You’ll Do

• Build and scale an AI-native social engineering defense platform that operates at internet scale.
• Design scalable systems to monitor domains, websites, social media, applications, dark web sources, and other digital channels.
• Develop real-time data pipelines to ingest and process high-volume signals from millions of sources daily.
• Train, integrate, and operationalize AI models and agentic AI to identify and classify phishing, impersonation, counterfeiting, and other scams.
• Build robust, fault-tolerant backend and data infrastructure to support high availability and rapid scaling.
• Implement full-stack product features: design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain applications and services.
• Build and maintain staging environments for safer releases, automated integration testing, and feature validation.
• Triage, troubleshoot, and debug performance and reliability issues to maintain system performance at scale.
• Define and implement software engineering processes and best practices; own engineering tasks end‑to‑end to meet customer requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline.
• Experience building scalable backend systems and real-time data pipelines.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• Practical experience integrating and deploying ML/AI models into production systems.
• Familiarity with fault-tolerant architectures and practices for high-throughput data processing.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills for performance and reliability at scale.
• Ability to own features end-to-end and collaborate cross-functionally.

Nice-to-Haves

• Hands-on experience with agentic AI or AI agents in production.
• Experience monitoring and processing signals from web, social media, and other online sources.
• Background in security, threat detection, or fraud prevention systems.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and containerized deployments.
• Familiarity with automated integration testing, staging environments, and CI/CD best practices.
