About the Opportunity
Confidential Client is hiring a full‑time Software Engineer to help build a scalable, configurable platform used by municipalities and local governments. You will work across the stack to deliver features that improve real-world government services, reduce manual work, and scale to thousands of different municipal configurations.
This is a hybrid role based in New York, NY with a regular in‑office collaboration cadence (3+ days per week).
What You’ll Do
- Build, test, and ship full‑stack features—from resident‑facing interfaces to backend services powering municipal workflows.
- Design and implement a configuration layer that supports thousands of municipal rule variations without brittle, per‑customer logic.
- Own product areas end‑to‑end: reliability, maintainability, and performance in production environments.
- Use customer feedback and production metrics to prioritize improvements and iterate quickly with municipal staff and residents.
- Participate in technical design discussions and code reviews to elevate team standards and architecture.
Who You Are
- 1–3+ years of full‑stack development experience building web applications for enterprise and/or consumer use; preference for candidates with high‑growth startup experience.
- Comfortable working with modern AI models as part of product features and in your development workflow.
- Demonstrated ownership—can point to a product area you shipped and were accountable for.
- Strong product instincts; you ask questions until you understand the customer problem, not just the ticket.
- Enjoy technical variety: GIS edge cases one week, fee‑schedule logic the next.
- Aligns with core values that prioritize mission, product quality, and collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- At least 12 months of professional software development experience.

Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation range: $175,000 – $225,000 base salary.
