Overview

Confidential Client is hiring a full‑stack Software Engineer to help build and improve a real‑time ticketing platform. This is a full‑time, remote role for candidates located in New York, NY. You will work across frontend and backend technologies, writing maintainable code and automated tests, and collaborating closely with Product and Design.


What You’ll Do

  • Build features and fix bugs across the stack, from well-defined tasks to owning scoped features end-to-end.
  • Write clean, readable, maintainable code with automated unit and integration tests.
  • Work confidently in an existing codebase: read before you change, follow established patterns, and make small, safe changes.
  • Partner with Product and Design to understand customer problems and deliver solutions.
  • Participate in and act on code reviews; give clear, constructive feedback.
  • Address bugs and performance issues, escalating and collaborating with senior engineers when necessary.
  • Build with security in mind: input validation, authorization checks, and robust error handling.
  • Add logging, monitoring, and tests to your work and use telemetry to improve it.
  • Pair and mob regularly to share context and help onboard newer teammates.
  • Update technical documentation (API contracts, design notes) when behavior changes.
  • Contribute to architectural discussions and help remove friction in tools, CI/CD, docs, and processes.
  • Participate in production support and incident reviews as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional software development experience:
    • Level 1: Up to two years (internships, co‑ops, significant personal or OSS projects count).
    • Level 2: Two or more years of full‑stack development in a SaaS or technology-driven environment.
  • Experience with a modern frontend framework (React, Vue, or Angular).
  • Back-end or API development experience; .NET Core preferred or willingness to learn it.
  • Knowledge of SQL and relational databases (Level 2: data modeling experience expected).
  • Experience with automated testing; Level 2 candidates should write unit and integration tests routinely.
  • Comfortable using Git for version control.
  • Solid grasp of computer science fundamentals.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with C# or .NET Core.
  • Unit testing JavaScript or Vue components.
  • Experience with Azure, GitHub Actions, or Terraform.
  • Observability tools such as Datadog.
  • Payments integrations such as Stripe.
  • Familiarity with Agile ways of working.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Software Engineer 1: Base salary range $75,000 – $95,000 per year.
  • Software Engineer 2: Base salary range $95,000 – $115,000 per year.
  • Eligibility for annual bonus (performance/company success).
