Role Overview

This is an entry-level, full-time Software Engineer role with a strong data and machine-learning focus for a confidential client. You will write production-quality Python, work with raw datasets, and contribute to client-facing projects that apply AI/ML and analytics to real business problems. The role is based in New York, NY. Candidates must be flexible and may be required to relocate anywhere in the United States based on project needs.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and maintain Python-based applications and tools used for data processing and analysis
• Clean, transform, and validate raw datasets to support modeling and analytics
• Write and optimize SQL queries to extract and aggregate data from relational stores
• Build and consume RESTful APIs to integrate services and datasets
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Git and agile practices
• Support client-facing work — present findings, troubleshoot data issues, and implement feedback
• Learn and apply machine learning techniques and frameworks on projects as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• 1+ year of professional software development experience using Python regularly
• Practical experience with SQL and working with raw datasets
• Understanding of basic data structures and software engineering fundamentals
• Familiarity with REST APIs (building or consuming)
• Comfortable working in a collaborative codebase using version control (Git)
• Entry-level candidates who demonstrate strong problem-solving and communication skills are encouraged to apply

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with a cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Exposure to machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
• Prior experience on client-facing engagements or delivery teams
• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and automated testing practices
