What You’ll Do

  • Build and optimize computer-vision and machine-learning pipelines that must run accurately and quickly in live (real-time) conditions.
  • Write Python-first production code; profile and optimize hotspots (C++ or Cython for performance-critical paths as needed).
  • Integrate software closely with hardware — your code will drive, read, and respond to physical machines in lab and clinical environments.
  • Own features end-to-end: design, prototype, test in the lab, and ship to product.
  • Produce verifiable software: design and implement tests, documentation, and practices that support traceability and correctness.
  • Rapidly prototype ideas, iterate with mechanical and AI teams, and move validated designs into production.

Who You Are

  • Strong Python skills and a pragmatic approach to writing production-quality code.
  • Experience with computer vision, machine learning, or 3D data (perception, registration, segmentation, point clouds or similar).
  • Demonstrated history of shipping working systems (not just notebooks or demos).
  • Comfortable using AI coding tools but rigorous about verification and not relying on them blindly.
  • Curious, methodical, and quality-focused — especially comfortable working in domains where correctness matters.
  • Able to collaborate across hardware, mechanical, and AI teams to move features from idea to lab to product.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • C++ experience for performance-sensitive components.
  • Prior experience with regulated software (medical devices or similar) or strong familiarity with verification, validation and documentation practices.
  • Background in real-time systems, embedded software, or hardware-in-the-loop testing.
  • Experience deploying ML models into production environments.

Why This Role

  • Work on challenging, meaningful problems at the intersection of computer vision, ML and real-time control for physical devices.
  • Small team where your contributions are visible and land in product quickly.
  • Opportunity to grow technical breadth — from prototyping to performance engineering to verification in regulated contexts.
  • Employed directly by a confidential client in the Medical Equipment Manufacturing industry.
