Position Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Software Engineer (Python) in New Hampshire (NH). This full-time role is ideal for early-career developers with strong Python fundamentals who want hands-on experience building backend services, REST APIs, and cloud-enabled applications. Candidates must be open to relocating.
What You’ll Do
As a Software Engineer (Python) you will:
- Develop and maintain Python applications and backend services
- Build and consume RESTful APIs and integrate with client-side components
- Write clean, testable, documented, and reusable code
- Work with Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI
- Integrate with relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)
- Participate in testing, debugging, and troubleshooting efforts
- Assist with deployments, basic production support, and CI/CD pipelines
- Use Git for version control and participate in code reviews
- Follow security, coding, and data-protection best practices
- Collaborate with developers, QA, product teams, and business analysts
- Create and maintain technical documentation
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Python programming fundamentals
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms
- Familiarity with Django, Flask, or FastAPI
- Basic understanding of REST APIs and client-server architecture
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Experience with Git and common version-control workflows
- Basic web fundamentals: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Understanding of software development lifecycle and testing concepts
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Good verbal and written communication; effective in team environments
Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills
- Exposure to MongoDB or another NoSQL database
- Familiarity with Pandas, NumPy, or Requests
- Basic experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Familiarity with Docker and containerized applications
- Exposure to CI/CD tooling and deployment automation
- Familiarity with unit-testing frameworks (pytest, unittest)
- Basic knowledge of authentication methods (OAuth, JWT)
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum workflows
- Internship, academic projects, freelance, or other hands-on Python experience
Compensation & Benefits
- Base pay range: $30.00/hr – $35.00/hr (hourly rate)
