The Software Engineer (New Grad) on the AI Entities team at Confidential Client will develop backend systems that transform unstructured legal and medical documents into structured data powering AI-driven products. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to build scalable, reliable software integrating AI technologies, contributing throughout the full project lifecycle, and advancing Confidential Client's mission to close the justice gap through technology.

What You’ll Do
- Build and improve systems that extract and structure information from high volumes of unstructured documents.
- Develop reliable backend services and APIs that support document processing and AI-driven products.
- Integrate ML/AI models into production systems alongside engineers and data scientists.
- Improve scalability, performance, and reliability as services grow.
- Build tools and infrastructure to help teams evaluate and operate AI-powered systems.
- Participate across the full project lifecycle: design, implementation, testing, deployment, and iteration.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, data science, and machine learning teams to solve practical problems.
- Learn new technologies and contribute to the evolution of the AI platform.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software engineering fundamentals.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, Go, etc.).
- Practical software-building experience via internships, academic projects, personal projects, or co-ops.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to break down complex problems.
- Genuine curiosity about AI and interest in applying it to real-world problems.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Eagerness to learn, take ownership, and grow as an engineer.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.; sponsorship is not specified and will be discussed if applicable.

Compensation
- Base salary: $130,000 per year.
- This is the compensation range provided by the hiring organization for this role in San Francisco, CA. Final pay may vary based on experience, skills, and location where applicable.
Location
- San Francisco, CA (local hub). Specific work arrangement (on-site, hybrid, or remote) will be discussed during the hiring process.
