Role Summary

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Software Engineer (New Grad, 2027) to join their Software Development team in San Francisco, CA. This is a full-time, on-site role at the San Francisco office where successful candidates will be placed on engineering teams spanning Machine Learning, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure, and Inference.

What You’ll Do

As an early-career Software Engineer you will:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software across the stack — from low-level systems to customer-facing UIs
• Build product features and iterate quickly with product and design partners
• Optimize performance-critical code and participate in debugging and profiling
• Own projects end-to-end with high autonomy and accountability
• Participate actively in code reviews and mentor/learn with more senior engineers
• Contribute ideas that shape product direction and technical infrastructure

What We’re Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)

• Actively pursuing or completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (degree earned or expected by Summer 2027)
• Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and systems thinking
• Hands-on software development experience through internships, personal projects, or prior roles
• Comfortable with version control and collaborative workflows (Git)
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate trade-offs clearly
• Enthusiasm for learning in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Nice-to-Have (Bonus Skills)

• Web development experience (frontend or backend)
• Experience with databases, distributed systems, or cloud platforms
• Contributions to open source projects
• Exposure to machine learning or inference systems

Location & Work Model

• This position is on-site at the San Francisco, CA office. Candidates should be prepared to work primarily from the San Francisco HQ (the team typically expects in-office collaboration several days each week).
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Confidential Client may request proof of work authorization as part of the hiring process.

Compensation & Benefits

• US base salary range: $150,000 - $160,000 per year (full-time) — plus equity and benefits.
• Confidential Client offers competitive benefits including health insurance and other standard startup perks. Final compensation will be determined by experience, skills, and job-related knowledge.
