Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a hands-on Software Engineer to help design, build, and support transaction-heavy, event-driven full‑stack applications. You will work across the stack — frontend (React, JavaScript/TypeScript), backend (.NET/C#), REST APIs, and SQL Server — while contributing to application stability, integrations, and modernization efforts. This is a contract role based in Memphis, TN; remote candidates may be considered if local qualified applicants are not identified.

What You’ll Do

• Develop, enhance, test, and support web applications using .NET / C#, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and SQL Server
• Build and maintain backend services, REST APIs, and system integrations
• Implement and maintain frontend functionality with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries; resolve application-related data issues
• Investigate and resolve application, API, integration, and data-related problems
• Provide production support and help improve application stability and reliability
• Participate in testing, validation, code reviews, and continuous improvement activities
• Contribute to modernization of legacy components and integration with newer services
• Own assigned tasks and collaborate with engineers, business partners, and cross-functional teams
• Learn and apply new technologies and development practices as systems evolve

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software engineering or development experience with web applications, APIs, databases, or enterprise software solutions
• Hands-on development experience with .NET and C#
• Experience building frontend functionality with React
• Working knowledge of JavaScript and/or TypeScript
• Experience with SQL Server (writing queries and troubleshooting data issues)
• Experience developing, consuming, or supporting REST APIs
• Understanding of full-stack development and how frontend, backend, API, and database components interact
• Experience troubleshooting software or application issues
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Effective collaborator with strong communication and attention to detail
• Ability to learn new technologies, adapt to changing priorities, and take ownership of assigned work

• Experience working in an Agile development environment
• Experience supporting transaction-heavy or enterprise business applications
• Exposure to event-driven applications and system integrations
• Familiarity with application testing and validation across interconnected systems
• Exposure to legacy application modernization
• Exposure to cloud, DevOps, CI/CD, or automated deployment practices
