What You’ll Do

We are supporting a Confidential Client in the Construction industry searching for a part-time Software Engineer to help design, build, and maintain scalable software solutions. You will work closely with a small cross-functional team to deliver high-quality features, participate in code reviews, and help improve development processes.

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain robust and scalable software applications.
  • Collaborate with product owners and team members to define requirements and deliver features on a part-time schedule.
  • Write clean, efficient, well-documented code that follows industry best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing systems for performance and reliability.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for development workflows and tooling.

Qualifications

  • Proven professional experience as a Software Engineer or similar development role.
  • Strong proficiency in one or more major languages (Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript).
  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to write maintainable, testable code and to participate in peer reviews.
  • Good problem-solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills; able to collaborate effectively across disciplines.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage time effectively in a part-time role.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with modern web frameworks and RESTful API design.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, unit/integration testing, and cloud deployment patterns.
  • Prior experience working in or supporting software for construction-related workflows or operational tooling.
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and basic DevOps practices.
