Overview
Confidential Client is seeking a contract Software Engineer (MCP) to deliver high-quality software remotely for U.S.-based projects. This is a contract (Expert/MCP) role with flexible weekly commitment and competitive hourly pay.
What You’ll Do
- Work remotely to design, build, test, and deliver software components for assigned projects
- Collaborate with product stakeholders, engineers, and cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and scope
- Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Provide progress updates and meet agreed milestones for the contract engagement
What We’re Looking For
- MCP-level expertise (or equivalent experience) relevant to the role title
- Proven experience in software engineering roles delivering production software
- Strong communication skills for effective remote collaboration
- Self-driven and able to manage time across a 10–40 hours/week contract commitment
- Comfortable working in a contract setting and delivering to milestones
Contract Details & Compensation
- Employment type: Contract (Expert / MCP)
- Location: Remote — United States
- Commitment: Estimated 10–40 hours per week (flexible; depends on project needs)
- Compensation: $60–$120 per hour (hourly contract rate)
- Duration and start date: Determined by the Confidential Client based on project needs
Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrable software engineering experience (professional portfolio, past contracts, or equivalent)
- MCP-level credentials or equivalent domain expertise linked to the job title
- Ability to work remotely and reliably meet deadlines and communication expectations
- Right to work in the U.S. (if required by the Confidential Client for the engagement)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior contract experience delivering to milestone-based engagements
- Experience with distributed teams and async collaboration tools
- Strong problem-solving and debugging capabilities
