What You’ll Do

As a Software Engineer - Marketplace working with a Confidential Client in the fleet management software (SaaS) space, you will help design, build, and maintain features that connect buyers and sellers, coordinate workflows across services, and deliver reliable user experiences.

• Collaborate with product, design, and other engineering teams to define and deliver marketplace features
• Build scalable, well-tested backend and/or frontend services that support commerce, listings, matching, and transactions
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and system architecture decisions
• Own production services end-to-end: implementation, monitoring, incident response, and iterative improvements
• Write clear, maintainable code and automated tests; contribute to CI/CD and deployment processes
• Mentor peers and contribute to an inclusive engineering culture focused on quality and shipping value

Who You Are / Qualifications

We use best-practices from third-party recruiting to describe baseline qualifications commonly required for this role. Candidates who meet many of the items below tend to be successful in similar Marketplace engineering roles.

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience (or equivalent practical experience)
• Strong software fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and system design
• Experience building web services and APIs; familiarity with testing and CI/CD practices
• Clear communication skills and experience working cross-functionally
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience is common (not required)

Preferred (nice-to-have)

• Experience building or maintaining marketplace, commerce, or matching systems
• Experience with observability tools, production debugging, and performance tuning
• Contributions to architecture or design of distributed systems
