About the Role
Confidential Client is hiring a Software Engineer focused on Manufacturing & Supply Chain systems. You'll design and ship production software that turns procurement, bills of materials, receiving, and factory workflows into reliable, auditable systems that operators trust. This is a full-time position based in New York, NY.
What You’ll Do
- Turn template bills of materials into canonical order books that carry price and lead-time for every line item.
- Build procurement tracking and late-line detection so drift is caught quickly and recovery plans are generated automatically.
- Close the loop from receiving to payment: match deliveries to purchase orders, track serialized inventory, and enable finance three-way matches from a single source of truth.
- Model manufacturing workflows (BOM lineage, engineering change notices, inspection/test plans) so manufacturing runs and first-article inspections are enforced by software.
- Embed with sourcing leads, quality managers, factory operators, and warehouse teams to convert their judgment into software rules and schedules.
- Ship reliable extraction and document-processing pipelines that parse messy vendor docs and feed downstream decision systems.
- Deliver features end-to-end: design, implement, test, and deploy, and leave extensible data models and foundations for others to build on.
What We're Looking For
The items below describe the core skills and experience that predict success. Exceptional candidates who don’t match every bullet are encouraged to apply and explain how they’d contribute.
- You have shipped production code in one or more of: Go, Python, TypeScript.
- You have built features that use LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or open models), MCP servers, or agentic frameworks, and moved document extraction into production against messy inputs.
- You use AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) and can integrate agents to automate parts of workflows.
- You can take ambiguous operational problems, design robust software solutions, and deliver without waiting for step-by-step direction.
- You move quickly under deadline while leaving maintainable data models and foundations.
- You’ve partnered successfully with operators in factories, warehouses, or procurement and driven adoption of software inside their live deadlines.
- Product taste: interfaces are obvious to floor operators and workflows reflect how the work actually happens.
- Bonus (nice-to-have): experience with MES, ERP, WMS, TMS; BOM lineage; engineering change control; serialized traceability; supplier quality (NCRs, CAPA, FAI); three-way match; high-volume hardware supply chains.
Qualifications & Logistics
- Employment type: Full-time
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (as a guideline)
- Location: New York, NY (on-site or hybrid as required by team)
- Compensation Range: $224,000 - $300,000 (base + equity components may apply)
- This position will require collaboration with cross-functional manufacturing, sourcing, and finance teams; occasional on-site presence with operators is expected.
Benefits & Culture
- Competitive total compensation package (cash + equity)
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Retirement plan
- Generous PTO policy
- Commitment to pay equity and transparency
- Fast-paced, mission-driven culture focused on shipping reliable systems that matter to real-world operations
