What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a Software Engineer to support manufacturing data systems used in production environments. You will work on development, maintenance, and deployment of application components that collect, store, and present manufacturing data to engineering and operations teams.
- Contribute to new development and enhancements for existing manufacturing software tools.
- Design and maintain database objects (queries, stored procedures, tables, views) for reliable production data.
- Provide fab/manufacturing support—troubleshoot issues, deploy fixes, and assist operations during incidents.
- Execute software configuration updates and Engineering Change Order (ECO) requests.
- Maintain and improve production software to ensure uptime and data integrity.
- Collaborate across engineering, operations, and quality teams to deliver solutions that support manufacturing needs.
- Use source control and CI practices to manage code changes and deployments.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements to be considered for this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, another engineering discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- 1–3 years of relevant software engineering experience (or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of relational database concepts, with demonstrated experience in Microsoft SQL Server.
- Demonstrated proficiency in C# and the .NET software development environment.
- Experience using version control systems (Git, TortoiseSVN, Microsoft TFS, or similar).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter who can work independently with limited supervision and manage multiple priorities and short deadlines.
- Able to work effectively in cross-organizational and global team environments.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience supporting manufacturing/fab systems or industrial data pipelines.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tooling, unit testing frameworks, and release management in production environments.
- Experience with instrumentation or telemetry for monitoring manufacturing systems.
Working Conditions
- Normal office working conditions in a climate-controlled environment.
- Flexibility to support a 24/7 manufacturing facility as needed (on-call or off-hours support may be required).
- Combination of in-person collaboration and remote work support depending on team needs.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer (periods of 2–4 hours at a time are common).
- Ability to move around a manufacturing site as needed to support production issues.
