Role summary
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Software Engineer to join their engineering team in Manchester, NH. This role is a full-time position focused on building reliable, maintainable software that supports business and operational goals in the Energy industry. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, test, and deliver features while learning industry best practices and contributing to continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
- Design, implement, test, and maintain software components and services.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define requirements and deliver solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues in development, staging, and production environments.
- Contribute to automated tests and CI/CD pipelines to improve delivery quality and speed.
- Document code, designs, and operational processes.
- Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospective meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated ability to write and maintain code in at least one programming language.
- Understanding of core CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and basic system design.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn in a team-oriented environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship or project experience building production software.
- Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD concepts, and modern development toolchains.
- Exposure to cloud platforms, containerization, or infrastructure-as-code is a plus.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
