What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring a Software Engineer (Hybrid) to design, implement, test, and support production-grade systems used in a high‑availability financial environment. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, estimate effort, and deliver reliable, well‑tested code.

  • Design, develop, test, install and support programs/systems per agreed requirements
  • Analyze requirements and recommend systems approaches and solutions
  • Produce specifications, code, unit tests and acceptance criteria; estimate schedules and delivery timelines
  • Troubleshoot complex problems, propose fixes and work with senior engineers to deliver solutions
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to team members
  • Maintain and produce user and system documentation; present technical updates to stakeholders
  • Participate in release planning and propose corrective actions to meet project timelines

What We’re Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 1–4 years of professional experience with C / C++ development
  • 1–4 years working on Linux (RHEL) systems
  • Scripting experience with KSH, Python or Perl
  • Experience writing efficient SQL and Oracle PL/SQL code
  • Familiarity with technologies such as C++ (including Boost), gRPC, Tuxedo, multithreading, Unix/Linux tooling, Python and XML
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to communicate technical concepts clearly

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience performance tuning applications and databases on RHEL/Linux
  • Familiarity with secure coding standards, CI/CD pipelines, configuration management and release processes
  • Experience creating/maintaining unit and functional test drivers; supporting test environment setup
  • Experience working with integration, QA and production handoffs in an enterprise environment

Work Model & Location

This is a hybrid role based in Manassas, VA. Candidates must be able to work on-site as required by the team’s hybrid schedule and participate in in-person meetings, onboarding, and periodic on-site activities.


Compensation & Benefits

The estimated salary range for this role in Virginia is $82,361 to $152,955 USD annually. Actual salary will vary based on job‑related factors such as experience, skills and location. Confidential Client’s total compensation package includes competitive base pay, bonus opportunity, and a benefits program (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement/401(k) matching).
