What You’ll Do
Confidential Client seeks a Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain Linux-based infrastructure and distributed computing systems used in high-performance semiconductor manufacturing products. You will work across software, hardware, and systems teams to deliver reliable, high-throughput solutions that power inspection and metrology tools.
- Design and implement scalable distributed systems and large-scale data processing pipelines.
- Develop high-performance C++ applications on Linux with a focus on concurrency, low-latency, and reliability.
- Profile, analyze, and optimize performance for CPU- and GPU-accelerated workloads.
- Build and operate containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes; contribute to cloud-native infrastructure and CI/CD workflows.
- Implement and tune HPC and parallel-computing solutions, including RDMA and high-speed networking.
- Integrate and optimize GPU computing (CUDA) for accelerated workloads.
- Troubleshoot and support mission-critical production software; respond to complex customer-driven technical issues.
- Leverage AI/ML frameworks and AI-assisted engineering tooling to improve developer productivity, testing, and debugging.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 2–5 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in modern C++ with solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
- Experience developing and debugging applications on Linux-based operating systems.
- Knowledge of multithreaded programming, synchronization primitives, and concurrency design patterns.
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, client-server architectures).
- Practical experience with source control, build systems, and collaborative engineering workflows.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing and operating scalable distributed systems or large-scale data processing applications.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native technologies.
- Background in High Performance Computing (HPC), RDMA, and high-speed networking.
- GPU programming experience (CUDA) and performance tuning for accelerated compute.
- Familiarity with AI/ML infrastructure, model deployment, or engineering workflows.
- Experience supporting customer deployments and diagnosing complex production issues.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base pay range (primary location — Milpitas, CA): $136,300 — $231,700 per year.
