What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring a Software Engineer I (Associate) focused on delivering high-quality, secure, and scalable applications. In this hands-on role you will participate across the full software development lifecycle—requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support—working closely with cross-functional teams to meet business goals.

• Design, develop, test, and deliver application code that meets functional and non-functional requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with a focus on reliability and minimal downtime.
• Participate in systems analysis and propose improvements to increase operational efficiency.
• Follow and promote SDLC best practices: code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and documentation.
• Mentor and share knowledge with more junior engineers; participate in design and code reviews.
• Ensure work aligns with risk management and regulatory compliance needs.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications to be considered for the role:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience (4 years total relevant experience preferred).
• Practical experience developing software using Java and exposure to other languages such as JavaScript, Python, and SQL.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience supporting production systems and troubleshooting complex issues.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in-office four days per week in San Antonio, TX (hybrid work expectations).

Preferred / Helpful Experience

• Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud or similar data management platforms.
• Prior work supporting financial services, banking, or regulated environments.
• Military service or experience as a military spouse (considered an asset).
• Prior experience with automated deployments, observability tools, and performance tuning.
