Role Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Software Engineer to join a product and services team in Irving, TX. This role focuses on building, testing, and maintaining backend and integration code, and on leveraging AI-assisted development tools and APIs to add intelligent features. You will work alongside senior engineers to translate business requirements into secure, maintainable, and scalable software.

What You’ll Do

• Develop, test, and maintain software applications using modern programming practices and tools.
• Use AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate development and reduce routine errors.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and clean, efficient code.
• Integrate external APIs and AI/ML services (examples: NLP, recommendation engines, computer vision) into applications.
• Support debugging, documentation, and ongoing enhancement of existing systems.
• Assist with data preparation, basic model integration, and prompt engineering for AI-powered features.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, QA, DevOps) to deliver production-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python.
• Working knowledge of databases, data structures, and SQL.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts (supervised learning, NLP basics) and using AI service APIs.
• Experience or exposure to AI-assisted development tools is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to code quality, and a willingness to learn new technologies.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
