What You’ll Do
This confidential client is hiring a Software Engineer III to design, implement, test, and integrate software for tactical defense systems. You will work on full software lifecycle tasks within an Agile team to deliver reliable, maintainable solutions for mission-critical systems.
- Develop and maintain C++ (or equivalent object‑oriented) software for distributed tactical systems
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and architecture discussions
- Implement, run, and analyze integration and system-level tests
- Debug, perform root-cause analysis, and resolve defects in complex systems
- Collaborate with systems engineers, test engineers, and integration teams to meet requirements
- Produce technical documentation and support process compliance and technical reviews
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, or a related field — or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of professional software development experience (C++ strongly preferred)
- Strong object-oriented design and development experience (design patterns, modular architecture)
- Experience working in Agile development environments
- Experience with Linux/UNIX development environments and common IDEs (e.g., Eclipse)
- Proficiency with debugging, automated or driver-based testing frameworks, and version control
- Current active U.S. government security clearance at Secret level or higher
Desirable / Preferred Experience
- Experience with tactical radar systems, signal processing, or solid-state radar development
- Systems engineering exposure: requirements development, verification & validation, modeling & simulation
- Familiarity with SysML/Cameo or similar model-based systems engineering tools
- Experience with tools and processes such as ClearCase, JIRA, xUnit/CPPUnitLite, assemblers
- Experience in CMMI or rigorous lifecycle process environments
- Strong math background (linear algebra, statistics, signal processing)
Location & Work Arrangement
- This is a fully on-site, full-time role located in Moorestown Township, NJ.
- Candidates must be able to commute to the client’s facility as required by the program.
Compensation & Clearance
- Salary range: $116,000 – $130,000 per year (based on experience) — provided by the confidential client.
- Active, current U.S. government clearance (Secret or higher) is required for this position.
