What You’ll Do
This role is for a Software Engineer III (Clinical Repository) based in Harrisburg, PA (telecommute allowed where permitted by corporate policy). As a mid‑senior level engineer you will build, maintain, and enhance a proprietary clinical data analytics repository that supports analytics and reporting across claims and clinical sources.
- Lead design and delivery of components for a clinical data repository and analytics platform
- Translate business requirements into technical designs, coordinate with stakeholders, and manage scope to meet project deadlines and budgets
- Design and implement data models, ETL processes, APIs, and integrations to ingest, parse, normalize, and expose clinical and claims data
- Develop, test, and maintain programs, stored procedures, scripts, and documentation for ongoing operations and enhancements
- Evaluate vendor software, lead integration efforts, and propose improvements for cost, performance, and quality
- Provide production support and occasional off‑hours assistance for critical issues
- Communicate status, risks, and technical concepts clearly to cross‑functional teams and business partners
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead technical projects using structured project management processes
- Conduct requirements meetings and ensure solutions align with business acceptance criteria
- Prepare test data sets and run unit, integration, and system tests to verify compliance and correctness
- Research and evaluate new tools, frameworks, and methods to improve the platform
- Act as a focal point for problem resolution and technical escalations
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant programming languages, database technologies, and healthcare data formats/standards
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of relevant IT experience, demonstrating increasing technical ownership and independent work
- Minimum 2 years of experience with:
- Clinical data analytics and building or maintaining a clinical repository
- Data modeling and database management technologies
- Programming languages and development tools (C#, Node.js, Python, SQL)
- ETL and integration tools (Informatica or similar) and REST APIs
- Healthcare data standards and clinical formats (HL7, FHIR, CCD, ADT, laboratory data)
- Parsing complex clinical data and mapping into analytical models
- Project management techniques and stakeholder communication
- Server/platform technologies and testing/productivity tooling
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience integrating clinical and claims data to produce actionable analytics
- Strong background in data pipeline performance tuning and scalable architecture
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and modern analytics ecosystems
- Demonstrated ability to integrate third‑party vendor solutions into existing systems
Compensation & Benefits
- Wage range (annual, base): $77,106 to $119,390 (listed by our client). Final compensation will be determined by experience, skills, and location-specific policies.
- Benefits vary by state and employment status and may include health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other standard benefits offered by the confidential client.
