What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the Video domain engineering team. You will design, build, test, and support backend services and the customer-facing web UIs that depend on them. This role owns features end-to-end and helps shape how millions of users experience intelligent video monitoring and related devices.

• Write and maintain high-quality C#/.NET backend code across the Video domain, including device lifecycle management and device-based features.
• Deliver customer-facing web UI functionality built on modern front-end frameworks.
• Own features from ambiguous requirements through design, implementation, testing, release, and production support.
• Participate actively in design discussions and code reviews; provide and receive constructive feedback.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues across environments, identify root causes, and deliver durable fixes.
• Use AI-assisted development tools as part of your workflow while validating AI-generated output for correctness, edge cases, security, and maintainability.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong object-oriented programming skills; professional C#/.NET experience preferred.
• Familiarity with at least one modern front-end framework (Ember, Angular, Vue, or React).
• Experience with SQL databases, including DML, stored procedures, and writing performant queries (indexing, batching).
• Experience creating and maintaining unit tests.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership and deliver features end-to-end.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with microservices architecture.
• Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, or messaging technologies.
• Experience working with IoT and hardware integration.
• Experience with observability, logging, error handling, and monitoring in production systems.
• Experience integrating AI-assisted development tools into a professional engineering workflow.

Location & Work Model

• Location: Tysons, VA (on-site presence expected).
• Our client values collaboration and expects engineers to work from the office approximately 4 days per week.

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary range for this position is $88,300—$122,500 USD. The final offer will be determined by qualifications, experience, and local factors. This role is part of a broader total compensation package.
