Role Overview
Confidential Client is seeking a Software Engineer II - Production AI on a 12-month contract to design, build, and operate production-grade AI applications in Los Angeles, CA. You will work with model APIs, agent orchestration, cloud infrastructure, and internal systems to turn ambiguous AI opportunity areas into robust, maintainable solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Design AI-enabled solution architectures that integrate models, agents, enterprise context, third-party APIs, and existing systems
- Partner with product, design, and stakeholder teams to identify high-value AI use cases and translate requirements into technical plans
- Build prototypes and take them to production, contributing reusable engineering patterns and platform capabilities
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot backend services, APIs, integrations, and cloud infrastructure that support AI workloads
- Apply AI-native development practices including agent orchestration and AI-augmented developer tooling
- Ensure observability, reliability, and performance of AI systems in production environments
Minimum Qualifications
- 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent
- Strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript, or similar languages
- Experience building, maintaining, or operating backend services, internal platforms, or distributed systems
- Hands-on experience developing applications that use generative AI models or model APIs
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and CI/CD for production deployments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and cross-functional teams
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US for the duration of the contract
Nice to Have
- Experience with agent orchestration frameworks and AI-native IDEs
- Prior work on AI infrastructure, model serving, or platform components intended for reuse
- Background in gaming or real-time systems is a plus
- Familiarity with observability tooling, feature flagging, and secure integrations
Technical Skills
- Python or TypeScript development
