What You’ll Do

You will join a multidisciplinary engineering team building connected products (medical and non-medical) from prototype to production. As a Mobile Engineer II, you will design and implement native mobile apps, collaborate with embedded and backend engineers, and contribute to technical decisions that balance scope, schedule, and quality.

  • Develop native mobile applications and features for iOS and/or Android
  • Collaborate in an agile, iterative workflow: gather requirements, define tasks, estimate, and deliver
  • Interface with RESTful and other backend APIs to support product functionality
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specs and product requirement specifications
  • Deliver clear verbal and written status updates to internal team members and client stakeholders
  • Write modular, testable code and contribute to unit and UI test suites
  • Work confidently with Python and C code when required for cross-team integration
  • Participate in code reviews, provide and receive constructive feedback, and mentor peers when appropriate

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years building native mobile software for iOS, Android, or both
  • Proficient in Swift (iOS) and/or Kotlin (Android)
  • Experience with Swift async/await and/or Kotlin coroutines
  • Familiar with mobile architecture patterns (MVVM, MVP, coordinator, repositories) and when to apply them
  • Experience implementing UIs with modern declarative frameworks: SwiftUI and/or Jetpack Compose
  • Comfortable reading and working with Python and C code
  • Experience writing unit and UI tests and designing for testability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, collaborative, and open to feedback

Nice to Have

  • Experience across both iOS and Android platforms
  • Cross-platform experience (Flutter or Kotlin Multiplatform)
  • Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) for connected devices
  • Familiarity with mobile DevOps: CI/CD pipelines, linting, automated test execution, and app deployment
  • Prior experience working in regulated industries or on safety-critical products

Work Arrangement & Location

This is a hybrid position for candidates located in the Minneapolis, MN area. In-office collaboration is expected on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with flexible in-person collaboration when needed. Candidates must be able to commute to the Minneapolis office for the scheduled in-office days.
