About the Role

Confidential Client (Technology, Information and Internet) is hiring a Frontend-focused Software Engineer II to join the Signup & Activation team. You will design, build, and optimize frontend experiences that convert visitors into engaged users across consumer products. This is a collaborative role that partners with product, design, data, and backend engineering to own features from design through production and measurement.


What You’ll Do

  • Build and maintain high-quality, accessible, and performant frontend features for signup and activation flows using TypeScript and modern frameworks (React / Next.js).
  • Implement A/B tests and personalization to improve conversion and activation metrics.
  • Integrate frontends with REST and GraphQL APIs; collaborate closely with backend engineers to ensure seamless data flow.
  • Contribute to frontend architecture, shared UI libraries, and monorepo patterns to improve reusability and developer velocity.
  • Write and maintain tests, participate in code reviews, and maintain documentation to uphold engineering standards.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, measure impact using analytics, and iterate quickly based on data.
  • Mentor peers and share best practices in frontend fundamentals: state management, component architecture, accessibility, and UI quality.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years building and shipping customer-facing frontend applications.
  • Strong proficiency with modern JavaScript and TypeScript; proven experience with React.
  • Experience with Next.js or similar server-side / hybrid-rendering frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Ruby on Rails ecosystem is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of frontend fundamentals: state management, component architecture, accessibility (a11y), testing, and CI/CD.
  • Experience integrating frontends with REST and GraphQL APIs.
  • Practical experience with experimentation platforms, A/B testing, and personalization systems.
  • Experience working in shared codebases, monorepos, or with shared UI component libraries.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for a distributed team.
  • Comfortable using AI tools to accelerate development and debugging.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize product outcomes and ship measurable improvements.

Preferred (nice-to-have)

  • Experience optimizing signup / activation funnels and conversion metrics.
  • Background working on growth or acquisition-focused engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with analytics stacks (e.g., Segment, Snowplow, Amplitude) and experimentation analytics.
