About the Role
Confidential Client is hiring a Senior-level Software Engineer focused on JavaScript and ad-technology (header bidding) to build and operate client-side monetization solutions at scale. You will be the technical expert for Prebid.js/Prebid Server and own the header-bidding wrapper architecture, reliability, and performance across thousands of publisher sites. This is a remote role for candidates based in the United States and reports to an Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Write and ship production-quality JavaScript and TypeScript code daily.
- Review peer pull requests and champion high code quality and testing.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert for Prebid.js and Prebid Server.
- Architect, maintain, and release header bidding wrappers, bid adapters, and modules (identity, consent, floors, analytics).
- Monitor and respond to Prebid.js/Prebid Server releases, OpenRTB updates, and emerging header-bidding standards.
- Translate ecosystem changes into concrete platform upgrades and recommendations.
- Integrate with Google Ad Manager, GPT, and IMA SDK for ad serving and video.
- Apply deep knowledge of GAM features: line item architecture, key-value targeting, dynamic allocation, and Unified Pricing Rules.
- Measure and protect Core Web Vitals (INP, LCP, CLS) and optimize client-side performance.
- Monitor memory, script execution time, and network overhead to protect UX while maximizing revenue.
- Own deployed solutions’ lifecycle and ensure ongoing reliability and incident response.
- Collaborate with a distributed engineering team to solve complex ad-tech problems.
Required Qualifications
- Deep, hands-on expertise with Prebid.js (wrapper configuration, bid adapters, modules).
- Experience with Prebid Server (stored requests, server-side adapter configuration, S2S routing).
- Strong understanding of the programmatic auction lifecycle, OpenRTB, SSP/DSP integrations.
- 4+ years of JavaScript development experience and substantial TypeScript experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Google Ad Manager and GPT.
- Experience deploying and operating high-throughput services on Google Cloud Platform (GKE, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, BigQuery).
- Familiarity with identity solutions/EIDs, consent frameworks (TCF, GPP), Amazon TAM/APS, and video (IMA SDK / VAST).
- Strong asynchronous programming skills and solid client-server architecture understanding.
- Excellent problem-solving, technical documentation, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ad-technology experience is required.

- Prior ownership of header-bidding wrappers at scale.
- Experience improving Core Web Vitals for client-side monetization scripts.
- Proven track record of production reliability and incident management in ad-tech environments.
