What You’ll Do

You will be a hands-on Software Engineer II contributing to full‑stack web applications and AI-enabled product features for a Confidential Client in the software development industry. Work cross-functionally with product, QA, customer support, and other engineering teams to deliver reliable, maintainable solutions that meet customer needs.

  • Work across frontend and backend to design and build features that span the full stack.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following team standards and patterns.
  • Implement well-defined features independently and contribute to broader design discussions.
  • Produce interface designs, technical documentation, unit tests, and automated tests for your work.
  • Design, build, test, and support AI-enabled features using Python-based AI and agent frameworks.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues across frontend, backend, databases, infrastructure, and integrations.
  • Participate actively in code reviews and share knowledge via documentation and pairing.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly, retaining ownership for quality, security, and correctness.
  • Learn domain-specific technical and regulatory requirements for the insurance/enterprise domain as needed.

Core Responsibilities

  • Translate business requirements and customer needs into reliable product solutions.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and product stakeholders to scope AI-assisted workflows.
  • Maintain and improve existing functionality while developing new features.
  • Follow established release management, security, and testing procedures.
  • Contribute feedback to improve engineering processes and product quality.
  • Assist customer-facing teams to investigate and resolve technical issues affecting customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • ~2–3 years professional experience with Python web frameworks (e.g., Django) or similar.
  • 2+ years experience with Vue 3 or similar reactive JavaScript frameworks.
  • 2+ years building and integrating RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with Docker and Docker Compose.
  • Experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.).
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
  • Familiarity with security best practices for software and data platforms.
  • Demonstrated interest or exposure to generative AI, large language models, agent systems, or AI-enabled development.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills; able to work with distributed teams.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Practical experience designing AI-assisted product workflows.
  • Exposure to production monitoring, observability, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with cloud-based deployment patterns and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Prior experience supporting customer-facing teams or investigating production incidents.

Additional Details

  • Employment type: Full-time.
  • Travel: Up to 10% required.
  • Physical: Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds; frequent computer use.
  • Work environment: Flexible-First — periodic office collaboration expected depending on role and team needs.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range (provided by the source): $85,000 – $115,000 per year.
