About the role
Confidential Client is hiring a Software Engineer II focused on building and supporting industrial software applications that drive airport, logistics, and material handling operations. This is a hands-on software engineering role (not a field controls technician). You will design, build, and maintain backend services, integrations, and applications that connect to automation systems and CMMS-related platforms.

What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, test, and maintain industrial software applications and backend services
- Build scalable applications using C#, Python, and modern .NET technologies
- Develop and maintain REST APIs, integrations, and database-driven applications
- Support CMMS-related initiatives and operational application development
- Collaborate with controls engineers, project managers, and operations teams for integration needs
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and sprint planning
- Troubleshoot software issues in production and testing environments
- Create and maintain technical documentation, development standards, and deployment procedures
- Support application deployments, upgrades, and lifecycle maintenance
- Contribute to software modernization efforts across industrial automation systems
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering or software development experience
- Strong proficiency in:
- C#
- Python
- .NET / ASP.NET
- SQL databases
- Experience building enterprise or industrial software applications
- Strong understanding of software architecture, object-oriented design, and application lifecycle management
- Experience with REST APIs, integrations, and backend services
- Familiarity with source control and development tools (Git, Azure DevOps, etc.)
- Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and operational teams
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Nice to Have
- Blazor, WPF, or .NET MAUI experience
- Docker or containerized application experience
- MongoDB or NoSQL familiarity
- Experience in industrial automation or manufacturing environments
- Exposure to PLC-connected systems or industrial operational software
- Understanding of CMMS platforms or maintenance management systems
- Experience supporting software in airport, logistics, or material handling industries
