What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a hands-on Software Engineer II with strong C and C++ skills to design, implement, and maintain reliable software components. In this role you will:
- Design, write, and maintain production-quality C/C++ code.
- Contribute to system architecture and propose improvements to performance and scalability.
- Debug, profile, and optimize software using standard toolchains and instrumentation.
- Collaborate with product managers, QA, and other engineers to define requirements and deliverables.
- Perform and participate in code reviews, ensuring maintainability and testability.
- Develop and maintain unit and integration tests; help improve CI/CD practices.
- Troubleshoot field issues and support release deployments.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years professional experience developing in C and/or C++.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Experience with debugging and profiling tools for native code.
- Familiarity with source control (Git) and collaborative workflows.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively across teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have)
- Experience with Linux-based development and cross-compilation toolchains.
- Knowledge of multithreading, concurrency, and synchronization primitives.
- Familiarity with embedded systems, real-time constraints, or performance-critical applications.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and CI systems.
- Background in systems programming, networking, or device drivers.
Location & Work Model
- This role is based in Boardman, OR (onsite or hybrid arrangements may be considered depending on the team’s needs).
