What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a full-stack developer strongest on the backend. The core of this role is building and maintaining the REST APIs that power websites, mobile apps, and external partner integrations — plus the database work behind them. You will also make front-end updates when a feature requires it. Strong database skills (SQL Server / T‑SQL) are especially important.

  • Reports to the Senior Software Engineer
  • Build and maintain REST APIs used by websites, mobile apps and outside partners
  • Write and optimize T‑SQL — stored procedures, views and queries against a large SQL Server instance
  • Design and evolve database schema as features require it
  • Integrate, monitor and maintain third‑party service integrations
  • Work in an existing .NET (C#) codebase and build new services alongside it
  • Implement front‑end changes when a feature demands it (modern JS frameworks)
  • Investigate and fix production issues in owned areas
  • Read and debug across a mature codebase that spans many repositories and years of development
  • Respect existing logic; understand legacy behavior before changing it
  • Handle one‑off data and reporting requests without derailing product work
  • Collaborate daily with an external development team that builds against our APIs — agree on contracts and maintain compatibility
  • Work directly with vendors/partners when their systems or data are the source of an issue
  • Ship features that span several repositories at once and perform peer code reviews

Seasonal & On‑call

Our calendar has busy seasons (schedule launch and summer). During peak windows the team shares a rotation for weekend coverage so someone can respond if something breaks. This is a shared, rotating responsibility — not a permanent nightly or single-person on-call.

What We’re Looking For

  • C# and .NET experience, including working in a codebase you did not write
  • Strong SQL Server and T‑SQL skills, including query tuning and stored procedures
  • Experience building and consuming REST APIs
  • Working knowledge of a modern JavaScript framework (React, Vue, Angular, etc.)
  • Comfort with Git and pull requests
  • Clear written and verbal communication with non‑technical stakeholders
  • A track record of completing projects and shipping features
  • Eagerness to learn new tools and platforms quickly
  • Interest in the product rationale — why a feature is requested, not only how to build it
  • Care with sensitive data (platform stores personal info about minors and families)

Nice to Have

  • Data engineering or analytics experience
  • Cloud experience (Azure preferred)
  • Reporting and BI tool familiarity
  • Mobile development experience
  • A basic understanding of baseball or softball (helps with domain context)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base pay range: $60,000 – $80,000 per year (range provided by Confidential Client; your actual pay will depend on skills and experience)
  • Full‑time, Associate level role
  • Inferred benefits: medical, dental, vision, 401(k), disability insurance, paid parental leave (details provided by Confidential Client)

Why Join

  • Impact sports technology that supports athletes, families and coaches nationwide
  • Ship visible features used during live events and get immediate feedback
  • Small, passionate team — ownership and direct influence over what you build
  • Career growth opportunities in a mission‑driven environment
