What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring a hands-on Software Engineer II to join a cross-functional engineering team building reliable, scalable systems for healthcare operations. You will deliver high-quality code, participate in design and architectural discussions, and help improve engineering practices.

• Design, implement, and maintain backend and/or full-stack features that support production services
• Write clear, maintainable code and automated tests (unit, integration)
• Collaborate with product, QA, and operations to deliver features end-to-end
• Troubleshoot production issues and participate in on-call rotations as needed
• Contribute to technical design reviews and mentor junior engineers
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, observability, and performance of services

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications we look for in successful candidates:

• 3+ years professional software engineering experience (or equivalent)
• Strong programming skills in at least one modern language (examples: Python, Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript)
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and working with relational or NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker)
• Solid testing practices and experience with CI/CD workflows
• Good communication skills and experience working on cross-functional teams
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and take ownership of deliverables

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Experience in the healthcare domain or familiarity with HIPAA/security-conscious development
• Background with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, or microservices
• Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog)
• Prior mentorship or technical lead responsibilities
