What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring a Software Engineer I to join the Engineering Services team focused on production issue investigation, stability improvements, and product feature contributions. This is a hands-on role that blends production support, debugging, automation, and collaboration across Services, Product Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Cloud Operations.
- Investigate and troubleshoot customer-reported and production issues.
- Analyze logs, APIs, database behavior, data flows, and system errors to identify root causes.
- Reproduce issues and implement fixes, workarounds, scripts, or automation.
- Use AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate debugging, testing, implementation, and documentation.
- Validate AI-generated code and recommendations for correctness, security, maintainability, and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive issues to resolution.
- Document technical findings, root causes, and resolutions clearly and concisely.
- Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement activities.
- Identify recurring production patterns and contribute stability-focused enhancements to eliminate repeat issues.
- Contribute to Product-requested feature packs as priorities and capacity allow.
- Participate in the Engineering Services on-call rotation, including scheduled coverage outside normal business hours as required.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
- 0–2 years of software engineering, internship, or relevant project experience.
- Working knowledge of Java, Scala, Python, JavaScript, or a similar programming language.
- Experience or familiarity with AI-assisted coding and engineering tools, and the ability to evaluate and validate AI-generated code and technical recommendations.
- Solid understanding of APIs, databases (SQL), testing, and software development fundamentals.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and ownership mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Java and/or Scala applications.
- Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Experience with application logs, monitoring, or observability tools.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, Jira, and Confluence.
- Exposure to SaaS, microservices, distributed systems, or production support environments.

Compensation & Location
- Location: Wilmington, MA (on-site / hybrid as defined by the client)
- US Pay Range: $83,234.86 — $105,606.94 USD (estimated base salary range; final offer may vary based on experience, skills, and other factors). This range is provided in compliance with applicable pay transparency requirements for the job location.
