What You’ll Do

  • Develop, test, and maintain software that supports the Unified Video (UV) platform and related applications such as the Feed Management Portal (FMP) and NetOps.
  • Assist in building backend services and automation using Node.js and Python.
  • Work with PostgreSQL-backed systems; write and maintain SQL for application needs.
  • Support software deployment, configuration management, and CI/CD automation.
  • Troubleshoot defects, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes to improve reliability.
  • Contribute to security updates and vulnerability remediation efforts.
  • Participate in code reviews, automated testing, and Agile team ceremonies.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to modernize legacy components and implement new features.
  • Maintain technical documentation and share knowledge with the team.
  • Continuously learn new tools and best practices to improve team efficiency and software quality.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Hands-on experience with object-oriented programming from coursework, internships, personal projects, or professional roles.
  • Experience with one or more modern languages (JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, or C++).
  • Familiarity with Git and standard software development practices.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship, co-op, research, or project experience building software applications.
  • Comfortable working in Linux environments and using command-line tools.
  • Exposure to Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, Docker, and/or Kubernetes.
  • Basic understanding of REST APIs, SQL databases, and software testing principles.
  • Familiarity with GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Ansible).
  • Experience using AI-assisted developer tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.) to accelerate learning and productivity.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, eagerness to learn, and ability to work in a collaborative Agile team.

Compensation & Location

This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Ashburn, VA (worksite per the confidential client). Cubic pay guidance listed in the original posting: $40.00 - $44.00 per hour + benefits. Final pay offers depend on experience, skills, and other factors. Limited travel may be required.
