What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a Software Engineer I to contribute to the development of real‑time embedded software and application tools within an engineering team. You will work on well‑defined tasks across the software development lifecycle, collaborate with engineers and project managers, and follow established processes to deliver reliable systems.
- Assist with requirements, design, development, integration, and testing of real‑time embedded software and application software.
- Write, review, and maintain clean, documented code and system artifacts.
- Participate in internal design and code reviews.
- Integrate software components and verify behavior on target platforms.
- Follow configuration management and software development lifecycle practices.
- Coordinate with cross‑functional engineers and project leads to meet schedule and scope.
- Obtain and maintain program access and required clearances as needed.

Qualifications (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (or equivalent experience).
- Ability to obtain an Interim Secret U.S. government security clearance prior to start. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Willingness to work onsite at the Tucson, AZ campus and attend in‑person steps of the interview process as requested.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and systems software design.
- Experience with C/C++ and low‑level/embedded programming; familiarity with assembly is a plus.
- Understanding of object‑oriented design and UML.
- Familiarity with numerical/statistical methods relevant to embedded applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to work in cross‑disciplinary teams.
Location & Clearance
- Location: Tucson, AZ — this role is primarily onsite at the client’s Tucson campus.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government security clearance prior to start date is required. U.S. citizenship is required to hold the clearance.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range (good‑faith estimate): 57,200 USD – 108,800 USD per year. Actual pay will depend on role, experience, location, education, and skills.
