What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Software Engineer I to help build and maintain scalable data and engineering systems that support next-generation AI development. In this role you will work on production services, data pipelines, testing and monitoring, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including ML researchers and product.

• Contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of backend services and data infrastructure
• Build reliable data pipelines and ETL processes that feed ML workflows
• Write clean, well-tested code and help improve automated testing and CI/CD
• Troubleshoot production issues and participate in on-call rotations as needed
• Collaborate with engineers, researchers, and product to ship features and improve system reliability
• Help measure and improve system performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency
• Document systems, designs, and runbooks for operational readiness

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Strong programming skills in at least one general-purpose language (for example: Python, Go, Java, or C++)
• Comfortable with core CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and system design at an entry level
• Experience using Git and working in a collaborative code-review culture
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix command line and common developer tooling
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data processing frameworks, message queues, or ETL tools
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure-as-code concepts
• Exposure to containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Interest or experience in machine learning workflows, model serving, or ML data pipelines
• Prior internship or project experience building production-quality software systems
