What You’ll Do

As a Software Engineer I with our Confidential Client you will contribute to design, development, test, and delivery of software tools and embedded applications that support aerospace electrical and avionics systems. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Develop, test, and maintain software and toolchains for aerospace systems and products.
  • Translate system and software requirements into robust, documented implementations.
  • Participate in code reviews and follow software development best practices.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects across hardware-software integration points.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and global engineering teams to support releases and technical documentation.
  • Contribute to process improvements and maintain compliance with aerospace development standards.

Location & Work Model

  • Phoenix, AZ — Hybrid work schedule.
  • Note: For the first 90 days, new hires will work 100% onsite, Monday–Friday; thereafter the role follows the team’s hybrid schedule.

Must Have (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 0–2 years of professional software development experience (internships and co-ops count).
  • U.S. Person required due to export control laws (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected status permitting export authorization).

We Value (Preferred Skills & Experience)

  • Experience or coursework in embedded systems, real-time operating systems, or aerospace-related software.
  • Familiarity with C++, C, or Python.
  • Exposure to version control (Git), unit testing, and software lifecycle processes.
  • Basic understanding of hardware–software integration and debugging techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated pay (from public source): approximately $77,801 per year — actual offer may vary based on experience and location.
  • Benefits typically include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending / HSA options, employee assistance and educational assistance, parental leave, paid holidays and PTO. Specifics will be provided by the hiring organization.
