Overview

Confidential Client (a leader in Defense and Space Manufacturing) is hiring a Software Engineer I (Onsite) in Tucson, AZ to join their Test Equipment Engineering team. You will help design, develop, integrate, and debug software for lab and factory test systems used across aerospace and defense products. This is an onsite role; relocation assistance is eligible. Salary range (good-faith estimate): $57,200 — $108,800 USD.


What You’ll Do

  • Develop and integrate object‑oriented software applications using C# and C++ in Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Troubleshoot and debug software to ensure functionality and reliability in test environments
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to design and implement test solutions
  • Work within established software development lifecycles (Agile and Waterfall)
  • Derive, document, and validate requirements for software applications and test systems
  • Integrate test instruments and hardware with software test frameworks

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) completed prior to start
  • Hands‑on experience with software development, testing, or integration using C, C++, Python, or Visual Basic
  • Experience with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Visual Studio
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Ability to obtain an interim U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start; DoD Secret clearance required

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Familiarity with object‑oriented design and software development principles
  • Experience developing applications in C# for test or instrumentation environments
  • Strong problem‑solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills
  • Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall development lifecycles
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic engineering environment

Security & Eligibility

  • This position requires U.S. citizenship. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance.
  • Candidates must be able to obtain an INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start (Security Clearance Type: DoD Secret) or possess an active transferable clearance.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range (good‑faith estimate): $57,200 — $108,800 USD (varies by experience, location, role responsibilities)
  • Relocation eligible
