What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Software Engineer-I to join its engineering team in New Jersey. You will work with senior engineers to build and maintain cloud-native web and mobile applications, contribute to new features, and support production systems.

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to design, develop, test, and deploy software that meets business and user needs
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following modern best practices
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
  • Assist in implementing the website and a patient-management mobile application
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve defects in development and production environments
  • Take part in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and contribute to continuous improvement

Responsibilities

  • Implement features and fixes in Java, Python, or similar languages
  • Develop front-end components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript where required
  • Work with cloud platforms (Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, or GCP) on deployments and basic infra tasks
  • Use containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes) for local development and deployments
  • Maintain documentation and follow secure-coding and testing standards

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong fundamentals in at least one programming language such as Java or Python
  • Basic web development knowledge: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization concepts (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice-to-Have

  • Internship or project experience building web or mobile apps
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, unit testing, or automated deployments
  • Exposure to patient management, healthcare workflows, or HIPAA-aware development (helpful but not required)
