What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Software Engineer-I to join its engineering team in New Jersey. You will work with senior engineers to build and maintain cloud-native web and mobile applications, contribute to new features, and support production systems.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to design, develop, test, and deploy software that meets business and user needs
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following modern best practices
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
- Assist in implementing the website and a patient-management mobile application
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve defects in development and production environments
- Take part in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and contribute to continuous improvement
Responsibilities
- Implement features and fixes in Java, Python, or similar languages
- Develop front-end components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript where required
- Work with cloud platforms (Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, or GCP) on deployments and basic infra tasks
- Use containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes) for local development and deployments
- Maintain documentation and follow secure-coding and testing standards
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong fundamentals in at least one programming language such as Java or Python
- Basic web development knowledge: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization concepts (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly in a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Nice-to-Have
- Internship or project experience building web or mobile apps
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, unit testing, or automated deployments
- Exposure to patient management, healthcare workflows, or HIPAA-aware development (helpful but not required)
