What You’ll Do

This is an early-career, full-time software engineering role working onsite in Marlborough, MA on aerospace/defense systems for a confidential client. You will join cross-disciplinary product teams and participate across the full software development lifecycle.

  • Participate on collaborative, cross-disciplined integrated product teams, often using agile methods
  • Contribute to architecture, design, integration, test, and field support activities
  • Develop and maintain software primarily in C++ for embedded/real-time systems
  • Follow high-assurance software engineering processes and engineering rigor recognized by the Software Engineering Institute
  • Support continuous integration, automated testing, and DevOps practices as the team adopts them

What You’ll Learn

  • Work inside an organization recognized for high software engineering process maturity
  • Gain exposure to embedded and real-time OS environments (Linux, VxWorks, etc.)
  • Learn industry-standard system engineering artifacts (Use Cases, SysML) and UML/OO design
  • Collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines in an aerospace context

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field completed by the start date
  • Software development experience (internship, co-op, academic project, or professional experience)
  • Experience programming in C++
  • U.S. citizenship is required (only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; Secret DoD clearance required (active clearance expected per client requirement)

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Applied experience with UML and Object-Oriented Analysis & Design (OOA/D)
  • Familiarity with Use Cases, SysML, and other system engineering artifacts
  • Experience with Agile lifecycle practices (Scrum), Continuous Integration, and Test-Driven Development
  • Experience with DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins) and automated testing pipelines
  • Exposure to Model Driven Development
  • Working knowledge of Linux, VxWorks, or other real-time operating systems
  • Prior experience in aerospace, defense, or embedded systems is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $57,200 - $108,800 USD (good-faith estimate representative of all experience levels). Final offer considers role, experience, location, training, and skills.
  • Relocation eligible

Additional Requirements & Hiring Notes

  • This is an onsite role based in Marlborough, MA. Candidates should expect to work primarily onsite and may be asked to attend select interview steps in-person.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance are mandatory.
