About the Role
We are working with a Confidential Client in the Specialty Grocery Retail industry to find an entry-level Software Engineer (Software Engineer I) to join their technology team in Greensboro, NC. This role contributes to the design, development, testing, and delivery of internal and customer-facing software that supports retail operations, e-commerce, and store systems.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, QA, operations) to deliver features from design through production
- Write clean, maintainable code and unit tests
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and production issues
- Help maintain CI/CD pipelines, system monitoring, and application documentation
- Learn and adopt the tech stack used by the team; actively grow your skills
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience
- 0–2 years professional software development experience (internships and co-ops count)
- Familiarity with at least one programming language (for example: Java, C#, JavaScript, Python)
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycle, version control (Git), and debugging techniques
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with web technologies (REST APIs, HTML/CSS, modern JavaScript frameworks)
- Experience with databases (relational or NoSQL) and basic query skills
- Exposure to testing frameworks, CI/CD tools, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Retail, e-commerce, or POS systems experience (helpful but not required)
- Demonstrated initiative to learn new tools and technologies

Location & Work Model
This position is based in Greensboro, NC. Candidates should be able to work from the Greensboro area as required by the client. Specific onsite/remote/hybrid arrangements will be determined by the client.
