What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Software Engineer I to develop real-time embedded software for airborne radar systems. This is an onsite role in El Segundo, CA.

• Work technical problems and deliver innovative solutions with guidance.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including software/hardware integration and verification.
• Develop real-time embedded software for radar modes and capabilities.
• Troubleshoot and investigate system and software issues; propose and implement fixes.
• Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams (software, systems, test, and hardware).
• Attend program and customer meetings and reviews.
• Support technical decision-making and problem resolution to meet technical, schedule, cost, and quality objectives.
• Contribute to requirements, architecture, and design discussions.
• Adhere to program and facility security requirements (special access programs may apply).

Qualifications (Must have)

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) — typically required for this level.
• Less than 2 years of relevant professional experience (entry level).
• Development experience in C, C++, Ada, or similar languages.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux, Windows, VxWorks, or other real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Experience working in agile/scrum, collaborative team environments and using common agile tool suites.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government interim Secret security clearance prior to start — U.S. citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Introductory experience designing, coding, integrating, and testing software within a large software baseline or system.
• Current DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance (preferred).
• Experience developing radar or other avionics embedded software.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for system and tool performance issues.
• Experience with large, complex airborne systems.

Location & Clearance

• Work location: Onsite at Confidential Client’s El Segundo, CA campus.
• This role requires the ability to obtain an interim Secret U.S. security clearance prior to start; U.S. citizenship is required.
• Candidates may be required to attend select interview steps in-person as part of the secure hiring process.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range (good-faith estimate): USD 62,900 — USD 119,700 per year. This range is representative of all experience levels for this posting; final offers consider role responsibilities, experience, location, education, and skills.
• Eligible hired applicants may receive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, employee assistance, paid time off, parental leave, and potential short- and long-term incentive programs (subject to eligibility and program rules).
