What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Software Engineer to join an onsite engineering team building embedded and mission-critical aerospace systems. You will contribute to design, implementation, integration, and verification of embedded software and collaborate with hardware, systems, and FPGA engineers.
- Contribute to new product development across embedded systems and communications domains
- Implement, unit-test, and verify software components in C, C++, and Rust; use Python for tooling and automation
- Work on features related to cryptography, waveform & networking protocols, and device interfaces
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and sprint ceremonies with an agile team
- Support DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for embedded targets
- Troubleshoot, profile, and optimize software on embedded platforms and target hardware

Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or equivalent experience; typically less than 2 years relevant experience
- Hands-on experience or coursework with C and/or C++
- U.S. citizenship required due to national security and clearance needs
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (DoD Secret)
Qualifications We Prefer
- Familiarity with embedded software development and toolchains
- Exposure to cryptography, software security, or secure coding practices
- Some experience with Rust, Python, or networking protocols
- Experience working on teams using Agile methodologies

Location & Clearance
- This role is onsite in Fort Wayne, IN. Candidates must be willing to work primarily at the assigned facility.
- The position requires eligibility for a DoD Secret clearance; active clearance preferred where indicated.
- U.S. citizenship is required because only U.S. citizens are eligible for this clearance.
Relocation & Travel
- Relocation may be eligible for qualified candidates. Occasional travel as required by project needs.
