What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and internal tools that support industrial automation products and services.
  • Implement features and fix defects across platforms (including Ignition and adjacent tooling) under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Participate in code reviews, contribute to design discussions, and follow team development practices to improve quality.
  • Debug issues in development, test, and production environments and deliver timely fixes and enhancements.
  • Produce clear technical documentation for code, configuration, and operational procedures.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (support, QA, product) to integrate components and third-party tools.
  • Continuously learn and adopt emerging technologies and best practices.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field — OR ~1 year of professional software development experience (or notable open-source contributions).
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, or TypeScript.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to read stack traces.
  • Good attention to detail and clear written/verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies (Agile/Scrum).
  • Comfortable collaborating in distributed/hybrid teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with version control systems (Git).
  • Familiarity with network protocols and network troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Ignition or other SCADA systems.
  • Prior exposure to build pipelines, automated testing, or CI/CD.

Location & Work Model

  • Work model: Hybrid (based in Folsom, CA). Candidates should be located in — or willing to relocate to — the Folsom, CA area and able to commute as required.
  • Note: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. At this time, sponsorship (e.g., H-1B) is not available.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $95,000 – $105,000 per year (range provided by the hiring client).
