What You’ll Do
As a Software Engineer I on the enterprise financial technology team for our confidential client, you'll contribute to the cloud-native systems that move money across commerce, warehouse, procurement, marketplace and ERP platforms. You will start with well-defined features and grow into larger components while working closely with senior engineers.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain cloud-native applications and services supporting enterprise financial systems.
- Build APIs, event-driven integrations, and batch data pipelines connecting commerce, warehouse, procurement, marketplace, and ERP platforms.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and finance/accounting stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable solutions.
- Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to accelerate design, implementation, testing, documentation, and debugging.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code following secure development and quality standards.
- Write SQL to investigate defects, validate results, and support financial reconciliation activities.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, sprint planning, and continuous improvement.
- Support services in production and learn monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational excellence practices.
- Learn modern architecture patterns, cloud technologies, and financial processes while contributing to production software.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- 1–2 years of experience developing software using Java.
- Experience building applications on AWS or another major cloud provider.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with Git and modern software development workflows.
- Curiosity about AI-assisted software development and eagerness to incorporate AI tools responsibly across the software lifecycle.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Attention to detail and a willingness to verify your own work where errors carry material business impact.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused engineering environment.
Nice-to-Have / Bonus
- Experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, or event-driven architectures.
- Exposure to AWS services such as Lambda, Step Functions, ECS, EKS, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, DynamoDB, RDS, or API Gateway.
- Exposure to Kotlin, Python, or another additional language.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing (JUnit, Mockito, or similar), observability, and DevOps practices.
- Experience using AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude Code, etc.) while maintaining high code quality.
- Exposure to front-end development using React.js and TypeScript.
- Experience in Agile environments (Scrum or Kanban).
- Knowledge of distributed systems, enterprise integrations, or financial/ERP/payments/marketplace technologies.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $97,500 - $160,000 per year.
- The specific salary offered will depend on factors such as relevant experience, education, and work location.
- This position may be eligible for 401(k), new hire and annual equity grants, and (for certain bands) an annual bonus.

- Exempt salaried team members: unlimited PTO (manager approval) and six paid holidays per year. Paid sick and family leave will be provided in compliance with applicable state and local laws.
