What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, and test embedded software for avionics and aerospace products.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers and cross-functional teams on software requirements and design.
  • Implement, debug, and verify software using C, C++, and/or Python.
  • Write and execute unit and integration tests to ensure software correctness and safety.
  • Help diagnose and solve complex software and system-level problems following high-integrity development practices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or another STEM discipline completed by the start date.
  • Practical experience with C, C++, and/or Python (via coursework, projects, internships, or on-the-job experience).
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Willingness and ability to work primarily onsite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing software for real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Demonstrated ability to identify complex problems, evaluate options, and develop effective solutions.
  • Energetic, proactive self-starter who builds strong, collaborative relationships.
  • Familiarity with modern software development best practices and configuration management tools (version control, CI, code review workflows).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range (good faith estimate): $57,200 — $108,800 USD per year. The final offer will depend on factors such as role responsibilities, candidate experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
  • Potential eligibility for benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance programs, tuition support, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits and eligibility depend on the business unit and job classification.
  • Relocation assistance may be available if eligible.
  • Access to potential short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs, subject to performance and program rules.

Location & Work Arrangement

  • Location: Cedar Rapids, IA (onsite).
  • Security clearance: None required.
  • This role is onsite; selected candidates should be prepared to work primarily at the client’s Cedar Rapids facility and may be asked to attend certain interview steps in person.
