What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Software Engineer to join a Tactical Situational Awareness team within the Maintenance Applications organization. You will contribute to next-generation avionics software that improves pilot awareness and operational safety. Work will be primarily onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA.

• Design, implement, and evaluate software using C++, Java, and Python within an Agile framework
• Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with engineers on planning, design, and development of military/aerospace systems
• Work with cross-functional teams to assess early software prototypes
• Implement requirements, detailed design, software implementation, integration, and verification following software development processes
• Independently manage multiple tasks with guidance from a mentor
• Meet program schedules and collaborate with teammates on technical decisions
• Continuously learn new technologies and contribute positively to the team environment

Qualifications

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related STEM discipline
• Familiarity with C, C++, Java, Ada, or Python for software design and development
• Comfortable contributing in collaborative, cross-domain development environments
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and effective working with others
• U.S. citizenship is required for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Agile software development lifecycle
• Experience or interest in avionics, defense, or embedded systems

Compensation

• Salary range: $57,200 — $108,800 USD per year (good-faith estimate across experience levels)
• Final offer depends on role, responsibilities, experience, location, and skills
