What You’ll Do
Confidential client is hiring an early-career Software Engineer I to help design, build, and operate cloud-native transportation and logistics systems. You will work cross-functionally with product and operations teams to deliver reliable, scale-ready features for a strategic logistics platform.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend features and APIs for transportation and logistics applications
- Build and enhance data pipelines, ETL workflows, and analytical solutions using Python
- Develop cloud-native services and serverless functions using Microsoft Azure
- Implement integrations with third-party transportation systems and internal business applications
- Work with Snowflake, Azure Blob Storage, PostgreSQL, and related data technologies
- Participate in code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD processes
- Troubleshoot production issues and support deployments across environments
- Contribute to architecture discussions, technical documentation, and engineering best practices
- Support Agile development processes (sprints, backlog refinement, retrospectives)
- Continuously evaluate and adopt new tools and techniques to improve platform capabilities
Technical Environment
- Python development (FastAPI / Flask patterns)
- FastAPI and modern web frameworks
- React-based user interfaces (collaboration with frontend teams)
- PostgreSQL and relational databases
- Microsoft Azure services (Function Apps, App Services, Batch, Blob Storage)
- Snowflake data platform
- REST APIs and system integrations
- Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices
- Agile software development
Minimum Qualifications
- 1–3 years professional software development experience
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience developing applications with Python
- Familiarity with modern web frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, or similar)
- Basic SQL and relational database knowledge (preferably PostgreSQL)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure
- Experience working with APIs and integrations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building or supporting ETL / data engineering solutions
- Exposure to Snowflake or other cloud data platforms
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps workflows
- Experience on Agile software teams
- Experience or exposure to transportation, logistics, supply chain, or warehouse management systems
- Hands-on experience developing cloud-native applications and services

Compensation & Structure
- Salary range: $80,000 - $95,000 per year
- Location: Camden, NJ (onsite / hybrid as required by the confidential client)
- Department: Information Technology / Logistics Technology
- Travel: Less than 10%
- Reports to: Software Engineering Lead, Logistics Technology
- Employment type: Full-Time, Exempt, Salaried (bi-weekly pay)
